Saturday, May 18, from 2:30 to 4:30, the Modern Greek Teachers Association of Victoria and the Greek Community of Melbourne Schools are organising a interactive and exciting workshop. The workshop is aimed at primary school teachers [Kindergarten - 6th Grade], and the theme is "songs and ow they can be used as a teaching tool in our school classrooms".
The presenter of the workshop will be Mr. Tasos Ioannidis, and it will be held at St. Gregory's P.S., 396 Manningham Rd,

Τάσος Ιωαννίδης
Γεννήθηκε στη Φλώρινα. Αρχικά σπούδασε πληροφορική στο πανεπιστήμιο RMIT της Μελβούρνης, αλλά τελικά τον κέρδισε η μουσική. Συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στην κλασική κιθάρα στο ωδείο MELBA της Μελβούρνης και στο New England University, όπου ειδικεύτηκε στη μουσική κινηματογράφου. Δραστηριοποιήθηκε στο εξωτερικό για πολλά χρόνια, συνθέτοντας μουσική για δεκάδες τηλεοπτικές, θεατρικές και κινηματογραφικές παραγωγές, σειρές κινούμενων σχεδίων για παιδιά, αλλά και έργα μεγάλης φόρμας, όπως η όπερα «Women in War» και το ορατόριο «Αποκάλυψις του Ιωάννη», που παρουσιάστηκε στο Ηρώδειο.
Στην Ελλάδα επέστρεψε το 2001, δημιουργώντας σημαντικό συνθετικό έργο, μεταξύ άλλων, για παιδιά. Έχει στο ενεργητικό του 21 μουσικά άλμπουμ. Έχει γράψει έξι εικονογραφημένα παιδικά μουσικά παραμύθια και τέσσερα παιδικά μιούζικαλ, τα οποία έχουν ανέβει σε θέατρα στην  Αθήνα, στη Θεσσαλονίκη και σε πολλές πόλεις της Ελλάδος.
Η αγάπη του για τα παιδιά είναι η πηγή της δημιουργίας του. Ένα μεγάλο μέρος από το δημιουργικό του έργο είναι εμπνευσμένο από τις εμπειρίες του ως πατέρας τριών παιδιών. Με στόχο να μετατρέψει τη μαθησιακή διαδικασία σε παιχνίδι, δημιούργησε τη σειρά παιδικών εκπαιδευτικών τραγουδιών, βιβλίων και θεατρικών έργων «Λάχανα και Χάχανα», που έχουν αγαπηθεί από παιδιά, γονείς και εκπαιδευτικούς.

Tasos Ioannidis
He was born in Florina, Greece. Initially, he studied computer science at RMIT University in Melbourne, but music eventually won him over. He continued his studies in classical guitar at MELBA Conservatorium of Music in Melbourne and at the University of New England, where he specialised in film music. He worked abroad for many years, composing music for dozens of television, theater, and film productions, children's animated series, as well as large-scale works like the opera "Women in War" and the oratorio "The Apocalypse of John," which was presented at the Herodeion. Returning to Greece in 2001, creating significant musical compositions, including works for children. He has released 21 music albums. He has written six illustrated children's musical fairy tales and four children's musicals, which have been staged in theaters in Athens, Thessaloniki, and many cities across Greece.  Tasos' love for children is the source of his creativity. A large portion of his creative work is inspired by his experiences as a father of three children. With the goal of turning the learning process into play, he created the series of children's educational songs, books, and theatrical works, "Lahana and Hahana," which has been loved by children, parents, and educators alike.
